Today we solved a lot of problems.  After an early breakfast Richard had an idea about the phone.  He found that the settings were awry and wondered whether it had corrupted in some way.  So he took himself off to one of the local cafes in the marina to get better WIFI and solved the problem by backing up the phone against the computer and restoring the phone. So the phone now works.  With a working phone he was able to phone the bank only to be told there was no problem on the account.  It was just not able to process the payment because the phone wasn’t working.

After that was all sorted out the electrician came and looked at the solar panel installation.  The batteries had improved over the morning. He was able to explain.  The panels themselves are working fine and putting out plenty of electricity.  The problem is in the control unit.  It was only putting out a fraction of the electricity to the batteries.  He had a spare control unit in stock and was able to install it right away.  This one is a smart unit with the read outs going to our mobile phone by Bluetooth. It took a bit of doing to download the necessary app, because we needed better internet connection than the café free WIFI .  So we went to the engineer’s office and used their internet and now that is done and we have our solar electricity back. Richard even managed to pay the car insurance, which is how the whole saga started.

All that took all the morning.  It is still very hot, but there is a brisk breeze.  Richard assures me we are going to a sheltered spot tomorrow.  We ate lunch at a café and then did a bit of shopping at the overpriced supermarket here in the marina.  I will go to the butchers and greengrocers in town tomorrow.

In to town for dinner. On the way finally persuaded R to buy some Crocks to wear on the boat. He was running out of shoes!

An unusual cloud formation while we were returning from dinner
