Monday 10 June 2010 – Trizonia (again)

We managed the morning just fine.  There was no strong wind.  I went to the mini mart and bought a few necessities including batteries for our cockpit light.  We have discovered that the electric toothbrush is dead.  It won’t charge up.  I hope the battery one holds out!

Richard filled us up with water and took off the electricity, which had been swapped over in the night - by who?  Our French neighbours left first with us straight behind.

It was a funny old journey. I will never understand the winds here. They are all over the place. Today it kept varying between 4 knots and 20 knots!  Richard kept putting the Genoa up and then taking it in all the time.  We have come back to Trizonia because it is just so convenient.  There is no water or electricity, but there are comfortable free (for the moment) berths and a cute little village.  We want to go to Navpaktos, the old harbour we couldn’t manage to moor in on the way here.  But it wants to be entered early to get a space and be settled as there seems to be no shelter for the pontoon.  There is still talk of thunder storms here and we would like to avoid that.

So we are here, again. This time we are on the inside of the outer breakwater.  It is a much shorter walk into the village from here, so that is good.  But we can’t get the free WIFI, a bit of a shame.

Despite it being cloudy, it is very hot.   To cool off and get WIFI we went to a café in the village.  While we were there the threatened thunderstorms finally arrived.  Well, one downpour.  But the forecast for tomorrow is for storms most of the afternoon.  So we may wind up staying here another day.

Dinner in the village. Not sure what we will do for food tomorrow as it is R’s birthday.
